Battery testing - or is it a washing machine ?

Alex Haro, our Spanish student, is leaving us, and the last job we asked him to do is to model beside our newly designed Battery Testing Calorimeter. Next time, we will photograph this as a soup cooker - or perhaps a washing machine. Read more about what this robust battery safety testing instrument can do here

HEL to exhibit at 21st NAM

Come and meet our new US Regional Manager, Barry Giordano, at the 21st North American Catalysis Conference, 7-12 June, San Francisco.

Barry is looking forward to meeting you there; a bit of background about him might help. He has a BS in Organic Chemistry (with a focus on Analytical Chemistry), and has joined us with over 20 years of business development, sales management and technical support, serving the life science sector. If you are on LinkedIn, then more information on his extensive experience is available on his LinkedIn Profile.

Our updated High Pressure ChemSCAN will be of particular interest to visitors to NAM; it is a dedicated parallel reaction system for the rapid screening of high pressure reactions and heterogeneous catalysis systems. The system has been updated recently, with improved features and benefits, using our parallel synthesis platform PolyBLOCK gives it further flexibility and modularity. More information is available on our website, or read this article.

Parallel Synthesis and other automated chemistry tools at Achema 2009

Our newly recruited German Account Manager, Dr Gesche Heiss, can be seen at Achema today and until this Friday, together with Ian Norman - HEL's European Sales Manager.

We are showing our newly designed parallel chemistry AutoMATE system there, as well as our industry leading bench scale reactor system - AutoLAB, running with the new LasenTRACK probes, for on line particle profiling.

If you are planning to visit, pop by to our stand (Hall 5.1, E42-43) and have a little play with our cool new MicroNOTE touchscreen controller - shown on the right connected to our compact PolyBLOCK system, demonstrated by Gesche at our stand -captured by Achema's photographer!

Parallel catalyst and hydrogenation platform - UPDATED!!!

Our trusted HP ChemSCAN, designed for hydrogenation and catalyst screening - has been updated and upgraded, and now boasts the following features and benefits:

- Independent pressure measurement in each vessel
- Individual pressure control, allowing tests at different pressure
- On-line gas consumption calculation and display, in each reactor
- Individual temperature control for each vessel
- A range/difference of over 100°C between the reactors
- Ability to perform reactions down to -60°C

Still offering excellent mixing, but now the new flexible HPCS platform can also be used with different size reactors. Whilst the standard remains 16ml for each vessel with a working volume down to 3ml, it is now possible to replace or interchange those with 75 ml and 120 ml reactors.
